VERY IMPORTANT NOTE: This patch will update LOTRO clients from Book 12 to Book 13. It is advised you only apply the Book 13 Standalone Patch if you are fully updated to the current live version of the game (Book 12).
IMPORTANT: If you are patching from the bundled client of the game (i.e. fresh install of game from DVD), before installing Book 12 you will first of all need to install the Book 9, 10, 11 & 12 Standalone patches.

*Please ensure you save the files to a folder on the same hard drive as your LOTRO installation.
2. Once the patch has downloaded, launch the LOTRO client (if not already open) and click (UPDATE). This will open the file browser window. Search for the location you saved the patch file to. Alternatively, launch the .exe you have just downloaded.
3. The launcher will seemingly close and then the LOTRO Install Shield will start. You will be asked for a language to install in and the installation process will start. Don’t worry, the game will find the location of your LOTRO install automatically. Please Note: This only installs the files to the game folder - they will be verified once the Book 13 update has gone live.
4a. Once the patcher Install Shield install has completed, the LOTRO Launcher will restart itself. Click "Continue" to be sent to the familiar pre-login check-screen. You can now play the game as normal.
Once Book 13 goes live, the following step will apply:
4b. Once the files have been verified by the Launcher you will be presented with the login screen and then you will be able to enter your ID and password and log into the game.
VISTA: If you are using Vista and experiencing issues in getting the standalone patch to work please turn off User Access Control (Control Panel > User Accounts > Turn User Access Control on or off) and try again. |

2: Once the patch has downloaded, launch the LOTRO_EU_Book 11_Updater.exe. This will launch and automatically extract the files to a temporary folder (Don’t worry; these files will be deleted upon completion of their install).
3: Once the file extraction is complete you will be asked for a language to install in and the installation process will start for Part 1 of the patch. Don’t worry, the game will find the location of your LOTRO install automatically.
4: Once the installation of Part 1 is complete Part 2 should begin (a short delay may occur). If your game launcher opens at the completion of Part 1 then close it down and wait for Part 2 to begin.
5: Once Part 2 of the patcher launches you will again be asked for a language to install in and the installation process will then start for Part 2 of the patch. Don’t worry, the game will find the location of your LOTRO install automatically. Please Note: This only installs the files to the game folder - they will be verified once the Book 11 Update has gone live.
6a: Once the patcher Install Shield install has completed, the LOTRO Launcher will restart itself. Click "Continue" to be sent to the familiar pre-login check-screen. You can now play the game as normal.
Once Book 11 goes live, the following step will apply:
6b: Once the files have been verified by the Launcher (around 3700 - 4000 files, which takes on average around 30 minutes) you will be presented with the login screen and then you will be able to enter your ID and password and log into the game. |

Book 9: Shores of Evendim- Standalone Patch Instructions
1: Download* the standalone patch file from one of the following locations:
Gamespot
FileFront
BoomTown
GameZone
MMOSite

5: On Thursday, once the files have been verified (around 2700 -3300 files will be verifed by the launcher. This takes on average around 10 minutes) by the Launcher you will be presented with the login screen once again and then you will be able to enter your ID and password and log into the game.
